According to new swimming governing body rules, Denmark and Russia set a couple of new record in the relay events.
The Danish team won the women's 4x50 freestyle in 1:37.04 while Russia won the men's 200m medley relay in 1:32.38, although the European records for these events are 1:33.25 (set by The Netherlands) and 1:31.80 (Russia) respectively. Both record times were set in december 2009 before technical swimsuits were banned by FINA, effective after December 31st, 2009 [NOTE the strange thing is that FINA didn't erase all records achieved during polyurethane era].
