Two Time Olympic Gold Medallist and former swimming great Donna deVarona is suing ABC Sports for discrimination.
DeVarona, who is now 52 is suing ABC Sports for $50 million for age and gender discrimination.
She has been working with ABC on both full time and freelance basis on and off since 1965. She left the broacaster in 1976 because of what she described as "discriminatory barriers" against female sports broadcasters at the time. She returned in 1980 to host Olympic coverage from Moscow and then began again fulltime in 1983. She also worked for ABC on Summer Olympic coverage in 68, 72, 76 & 84 and Winter Olympic coverage in 84, 88 & 94.
