Mar 7, 2000
Australian swimmer Lori Munz suffered severe leg injuries yesterday ,after her car was involved in a head on crash on the Princes Highway on the New South Wales South Coast around 9.30 am.
Munz suffered severe damage to both her knees in the accident and will have to undergo surgery but it is hoped that she can make a full recovery. The question now is will she be able to recover in time for the Australian Olympic Trials which take place May 13 and 20. Making the team, was no doubt one of the major goals in her career.
Munz was a memeber of the Australian 4x100m, 4x200m freestyle relays that won gold at the Commonwealth Games in Kuala Lumpur and at the Pan Pacific Championships last September in Sydney.
