Diana Munz, who was our poster swimmer and one of the Lake Erie Silver Dolphins that we featured in an article on the club in our May issue was hurt in a car accident yesterday morning. Diana was the 800m and 1500m freestyle champion at the last three U.S. Nationals.
According to US Swimming info, she suffered a compressed fracture of the third vertebra in her back and will be wearing a body brace for a few weeks before getting back in the water. Doctors at this time feel it will be a 8-12 week healing process and the prognosis is good for a full recovery, according to her Lake Erie coach Jerry Holtrey.
We wish her a speedy recovery.
