FINA Bans Roberto Delgado For One Month
Jun 17, 1999
At the hearing conducted by the FINA Doping Panel during their June 14th meeting in Lausanne (SUI), the Panel suspended the swimmer Roberto Delgado (ECU) for a period of one month for testing positive for pseudophedrine and cathine. The test was conducted in the beginning of April during the 4th FINA World Swimming Championships (25 m.) in Hong Kong (CHN).
Regarding the cases of the long distance swimmers David Meca Medina (ESP) and Igor Majcen (SLO), the FINA Doping Panel judged that a request for more information was necessary.
