Finswimming proposed for inclusion in 2004 Olympics

Jan 8, 1999

In December, the Hellenic Olympic Committee in charge of the 2004 Athens Olympic Games, voted for the proposed inclusion of Finswimming in the Games. This first step in the process passed by a vote of 13 to 7.

The decision of the Hellenic Olympic Committee must now pass a second vote at the International Olympic Committee to be approved. The vote is expected to take place in the first half of 1999. If the proposal is adopted by the IOC, then we'll see Finswimming make its Olympic debut in Athens.
