Sachiko Yamada of Japan broke her own 800 free short course world record on Sunday at an invitational meet in Nishinomiya, Japan.

Yamada time of 8:13.35 bettered her own previous World Record of 8:14.35 which she set two years ago at the Japanese Nationals.

In the womens 400 freestyle she bettered her Japanese National record of 4:02.42 with a new time of 4:01.04.
