Cheryl Gibson Inducted Into Canadian Olympic Hall of Fame

Former swimmer Cheryl Gibson was recently inducted into the Canadian Olympic Hall of Fame at a ceremony in Toronto.

Gibson was inducted into the athlete catergory along with former sprinter Marita Payne-Wiggins.

Gibson, a native of Edmonton had quite a career making every international games team for Canada from 1975 to 1982.

Some of her highlights include a gold medal at the 1978 Commonwealth Games, a silver medal at the 1976 Olympic Games and two bronze medals at the 1978 World Championships. She had numerous other Commonwealth and Pan Ameirican Games medals totaling 12 international competition medals.
