Adlington, Dutch Divas Test Early Form In Lyons Den

The 12th Meeting International de Natation de la Ville de Lyon in France has attracted a strong international entry, headed by Rebecca Adlington, the double distance free Olympic champion from Britain. The meet takes place from 13-15 February. 

Adlington, winner of the 400m and 800m titles in Beijing (the 800m in a world record) will race 200, 400 and 800m freestyle. Her boyfriend Andrew Mayor and Olympic 4x100m free relay member Jessica Sylvester
are among other swimmers coached by Bill Furniss and racing in France from Nova Centurion in Nottingham. It will be Adlington's second 800m race since she broke the global mark that had stood to legendary Janet Evans (USA) since 1989. Adlington will be racing off the back of an overseas training camp.

The distance queen is not the only Olympic champion at the Lyon Vaise pool: Inge
Dekker, Marleen Veldhuis, Ranomi Kramovidjojo, three of the Dutch Divas ho triumphed in the 4x100m free in Beijing and coached by Jacco Vehaeren will also be in action.
