Saint John's Finishes Third At Invitational

The SJU swimming and diving team finished third out of nine men's teams at the CSB/SJU Invitational meet, held on Friday and Saturday, Jan. 12 and 13, at the Warner Palaestra pool on the SJU campus.

SJU sophomore Luke Vestrum won the 200-yard IM in a time of 2:01.67 seconds. Vestrum finished second in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 53.74 seconds and in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 54.95 seconds. The 200 and 400-yard freestyle relay teams of Luke Vestrum, sophomore Jim Arnold, junior John Schiltz and junior Aaron Bidle from SJU finished second in a time of 1:28.52 and 3:18.53 seconds, respectively. Sophomore Dan Morgan swam a 1:03.23 in the 100-yard breaststroke and a 2:15.24 in the 200-yard breatstroke to finish second. Arnold also took second in the 100-yard freestyle in a time of 49.28 seconds.

SJU will host Gustavus Adolphus in a dual meet on Saturday, Jan. 20, beginning at 1 p.m. in the Warner Palaestra pool on the SJU campus.
