Towson Defeats Loyola At Home

BALTIMORE, MD - Towson swept host Loyola in the men's and women's swimming and diving meet Saturday afternoon in the Fitness and Aquatic Center. The Tigers defeated the men, 209-86, and the women, 190-110. For the men, Towson's Aaron Krause took first place in the 200-yard backstroke (1:59.48) and the 50-yard freestyle (22.88). Loyola's Jamie Barone captured the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 56.84 and Mike Hoffman won the 200-yard freestyle at 1:50.84.

On the women's side, Loyola's diving team swept the one-meter dive. Amy Sweigart took first place with 212.25 points. Sarah O'Donnell and Meghan Devine followed with 202.12 and 197.70 points, respectively. Cara Pensabene placed first in the 50-yard freestyle, 26.22, and the 100-yard freestyle at 56.71. Pensabene also finished second in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:00.84. Towson's 200-yard medley, powered by Libby Walsh, Jennifer Cauly, Morgan Williams, and Kristin Trinkaus, seized first place with a time of 1:54.37.
