First Four South Africans In Line For Games

In Durban at South African Olympic trials, Chad le Clos, Riaan Schoeman, Heerden Herman and Kathryn Meaklim pencilled their names in for Olympic action in London this summer.

On the opening night of the SA Nationals at the Kings Park Aquatics Centre, Le Clos and Schoeman clocked 4:13.86 and 4:15.60 respectively in the 400m medley, with Michael Meyer third in 4:16.42.

In the 400m freestyle, Heerden Herman clocked 3:48.57 for a provisional London 2012 ticket ahead of Myles Brown, 3:51.70, and Mark Randall, 3:53.29.

Kathryn Meaklim won the 400m medley in a solid 4:37.70, well ahead of Jessica Pengelly, 4:46.47, and Wendy Trott, on 4:47.11.
