Brown Worthy Of Brit 4x100m Berth

There were no additions to the Britain Olympic team for solo events on the last day of ASA Nationals in Sheffield but Adam Brown, of Hatfield, confirmed his eligibility for the 4x100m freestyle with a 49.16 victory in the 100m free. Grant Turner took second in 49.25, with Jak Scott on 49.87 for third.

On 49.01 and 49.13 in heats respectively, Turner and Brown raced inside the 49.33 in which Simon Burnett took the 100m free British title at Olympic trials back in March.

Aimee Willmott, already on the team for London 2012, clocked a solid 4.38.68 to win the 400IM crown ahead of Lucy Spencer, 4.48.86, and Kate Hutchinson, 4.49.93.

In other events, Lucy Ellis, of StirlingSwim, took the 400m free in 4:09.68, just ahead of Anne Bochmann, City of Leeds, on 4:09.90; Olympic teamster Jemma Lowe, Swansea Performance, clocked 2:08.59 for victory in the 200m butterfly; another Olympic teamster, Andrew Willis, Bracknell, took the 200m breaststroke in 2:11.91 ahead of Richard Webb, Swansea Performance, on 2:12.47; and Sergii Frolov (UKR) took the 1500m free in 15:19.36 ahead of Britain Olympic team member Daniel Fogg, on 15:26.29, his London 2012 teammate and Olympic silver and bronze medallist David Davies, of Cardiff, fourth in 15:32.09, bronze going to Jack Burnell in 15:28.46.
