Robinson Tops 165 Men In 100 Free Prelims

US Olympic Trials, Omaha, Day 4 Heats: 

Ten lanes, 17 heats of 100m freestyle. Best trawl wide and deep if you want to find a man who can take down The Missile. In heat 16, Ryan Lochte set the pace at 49.33 just ahead of Jason Lezak. The last prelim piled on the pressure, Scot Robinson leading the way in 49.08 ahead of Nathan Adrian, 49.17, Matt Grevers, 49.24 and Jimmy Feigen, 49.29.

Last in 49.76, with another heat-full of men after that inside 50sec. Michael Phelps scratched last night but is eligible for the 4x100m under US selection policy.

In 2:08.78, Kim Vanderburg went through at the helm of the 200m butterfly, with a 2:08.84 from Camille Adams closest, the top 16 semis closed in 2:12.79.

The men's 200m breaststroke, Clark Burckle led the way to semis in 2:10.30, Scott Weltz keeping him company in heat 12 on 2:10.90. In the last of 14 heats, Eric Shanteau clocked 2:11.57 to complete the top three through, the door to the semis locked in 2:13.87. Joining the list of valiant comebacks that could not turn back the clock, Ed Moses clocked 2:14.32 for 18th.
