Di Nino Named Russia Coach Of 2012

Dec 22, 2012  - Craig Lord

For the first time in the history of Russian swimming, the coach of the year is a foreigner: Andrea Di Nino, head of the eponymous A.D.N Swim Project and coach to Olympic butterfly medallist Evgeny Korotyshkin, among others.

Di Nino will receive his award at the Salnikov Cup in St Petersburg, Russia, as the meet concludes today (results in full here). He told SwimNews: "It is a great honour to receive this award … the best way to conclude 2012".

Already the first foreigner to be appointed a Team Russia coach at the Olympic Games, Di Nino has developed a growing reputation through his success with an shoal of international athletes that has included Milorad Cavic (SRB) and Jason Dunford (KEN).
