How ADN's Latest Hire Talks To The Water

Feb 4, 2013  - Craig Lord

Andry Govorov, the 20-year-old sprint promise from Ukraine, has become the latest international swimmer to join the ADN Project in Caserta, Italy.

The secon-fastest ever from his country over 50m freestyle (22.04) and 50m butterfly (23.39) in textile suit, Govorov will provide speedy company for the likes of Brazilian ace Bruno Fratus and Russian rocket Sergey Fesikov in coach Andrea Di Nino's programme.

For those unfamiliar with Govorov's potential, check out this great video made for an Olympic sponsor and hear Govorov speak of his love of classical music and reveal that he talks to the water to ask it to help him travel faster because "water remembers information". Watch Govorov's feel of the water and it is not hard to believe the water is listening.

Echoing words one spoken by the great Alexander Popov, Govorov says of his element: "If you treat it well then it will also help you".
