Fina World Cup. Records broken in Singapore

SINGAPORE - Olympic champion Chad le Clos world-record performance in the men's 200 metres butterfly highlighted the first day of the FINA World Cup meeting in Singapore, November 5-6.

Yesterday the 21-year-old South African produced a time of 1:48.56 to surpass his own world best.

Australia twice broke the world record in the mixed 4x50 medley relay Tuesday.

The Aussi quartet of Robert Hurley, Christian Sprenger, Alicia Coutts and Cate Campbell won the final in 1:38.02. In the heats, they swam 1:39.08, shaving .46 seconds off the record set by France team in Doha on October.
