Missile Reloaded: Fires To 47.63

Men's 100 Freestyle Semi-final

The bombshell of the 4x100m freestyle behind him, James The Missile Magnussen, has found his burners once more: 47.63 set the pace in the first semi.

Cesar Cielo (BRA) came home next in 48.17, ahead of Nikita Lobintsev (RUS), 48.38, Gideon Louw (RSA), 48.44, and Fabien Gilot (FRA), 48.49.

Next up, Nathan Adrian (USA) took charge in 47.97, out on the wing in 8 Hanser garcia (CUB) upsetting the order in 48.04, Sebastiaan Verschuren (NED) on 48.13, Brent Hayden (CAN) on 48.21 and winner of two gold medals already at these Games, Yannick Aghnel (FRA) on 48.23.

Among those locked out: Gilot and James "The Rocket" Roberts, on 48.57 and a 20-year-old who will live to fight another day in the race pool.
